The coloration of Eclyse indicates, as in reference
to dog coat color, that the zebra stripes is
comparable to the brindling pattern.  The zebra
stripes, like the brindling, is only apparent in the
sable color.   The white, as in dog coat color,
masks the other colors.  In other words, the zebra
stripes are still there -- it's just hidden by the
white.

Zorse 'Eclyse', a zebra-horse hybrid
foal is pictured in the Safari park in
Holte-Stukenbrock near the western
German city of Bielefeld June 27,
2007. One-year-old Eclyse was
accidentally produced when her
mother a zebra, was taken from her
German safari park home to a ranch in
Italy for a brief time. Ecylse who was
born in Italy, has stripes on her head
and rear, while the body and her legs
